Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Quint (Jeremy London) and Brodie (Jason Lee), both dumped by their girlfriends, go to hang out at the mall. This one feels like the clear halfway mark between Clerks -- two guys loquaciously discussing their lives, universes and everything -- and the surreal energy of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. The dialogue has the expected and often-painful mix of cynicism, first-year philosophy depth and teenage dick jokes, but it's occasionally quite funny if you don't find the characters completely insufferable. It also has the distinct benefit of not taking itself as seriously as the likes of Chasing Amy: which is to say, it's an easy watch.
