Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Increasingly I feel like director Guy Hamilton is the feature that distinguishes the better classic Bond films. Aside from a few missteps -- like the obnoxious American comic relief J.W. Pepper (Clifton James) -- Golden Gun is a lot of fun. 007 (Roger Moore) clashes with the world's greatest assassin, Scaramanga (Christopher Lee), a playboy and his dark mirror. It's absurd and silly in the best ways, and one of the closest to the great Goldfinger.
