Curtis's fresh-faced charm lends sinister credence Sidney Falco's sleaze, and Lancaster is like cold, rigid and cruel as the icy J.J. Hunsecker. The rest of the film is good, but it's those two performances that elevate it to greatness. Truly outstanding.
