Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Shocking, brilliant documentary about a miners' strike in Harlan County, Kentucky. We often speak badly of big business and its treatment of workers, but it's best not to forget how bad things can really get. Barbara Kopple lets the camera speak for itself -- no voiceovers, no framing remarks, no tricks -- and the result is stranger, truer, and more eloquent than fiction.
