Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Hye-won (Kim Tae-ri) leaves Seoul to return to the countryside where she grew up, rediscovering the simple pleasures of self-sufficiency. A thoroughly pleasant exercise in "escape to the country" fantasy and Korean farm-to-table food porn -- much of the running time is devoted to scenes of planting, harvesting and cooking -- it's so transparently a view through rose-coloured glasses that it's also hard to take seriously. Wholesome and winsome.
