Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Robert Eggers' surreal story of two lighthouse keepers (Willem Defoe, Robert Pattinson) driven to madness by isolation. With the stark, black and white cinematography by Jarin Blaschke and the disturbing dream-logic, more than anything else it reminds of Ingmar Bergman. Great performances but Willem Defoe's accent was an unfortunate mistake. Quite a trip.
