Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Lovely puzzle-box of a film, partially ruined for me by the implication that some mind-blowing twist was in train. No: it's just an unusually excellent episode of Poirot, with a twisty, eminently satisfying Agatha Christie-style murder mystery. It pokes gentle fun at the tropes of the genre, like the quirky detective, and the suspects are so well fleshed out that it doubles as an engaging family dramedy.
They don't make movies like this anymore and it's a delightful throwback.
