Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Science fiction action flick take on Groundhog Day sees Cage (Tom Cruise) repeatedly tackle the same "Omaha Beach But With Aliens" scene, dying each time. The actual reasons why are a little silly, and the film sputters the closer it gets to its conclusion; the climax, such as it is, does not deserve the name.
But the first half is a wild ride. The source material, the Japanese novel All You Need is Kill, has a much darker take. The Hollywood version is enjoyable fluff.

Enjoyed this even more the second time around and wonder whether I should be rating it higher.
