A bullied boy, Oskar (KÃ¥re Hedebrant), meets a vampire girl, Eli (Lina Leandersson), one cold winter night. She helps him with his bullying problem; and he, in love, will end up helping her in more ways than he knows.
There's none of the romantic, Byronic vampire figure here: there are men strung up like animals to bleed out into funnels and little girls with blood-smeared faces and blood-stained clothing.
It's a bleak, realistic and deeply ambiguous take on the modern vampire that never quite answers the question it poses: who are the monsters here, and why?
