Suffers the stifling staginess suffered by most adaptations from the stage, but Tennessee Williams's original play is good enough -- and the actors perfect enough -- that the obvious choreography of it creates a sense of ineluctability; rather than shrinking to fit the stage, the microcosmic scene grows to mythic proportions.

In case you couldn't tell, I liked it.
