Julie (Kristy McNichol) hits a dog with her car and adopts it, only to find that it is a "white dog": trained to attack anyone with dark skin. Keys (Paul Winfield), an African-American animal trainer, takes on the task of deprogramming it.
The allegorical reading is obvious, and it's that reading that makes its images so powerful; the narrative otherwise feels too slight even for a 90 minute running time.
