Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Roy Munson (Woody Harrelson) has his tenpin bowling career derailed by the machinations of champion Ernie McCracken (Bill Murray). Years later, he discovers Ishmael, an Amish man with amazing talent (Randy Quaid), and recruits him for a million dollar tournament.
Someone at the Observer inexplicably called this one of the best comedies of all time, but there's a lot of the typical Farrelly cringe -- a particularly unpleasant sequence involves Munson's landlady extorting him for sex. The highs, however, are high, e.g. Bill Murray stealing every scene he's in; there's enough good here to outweigh the bad and the mediocre.
