Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Could've been worse
Surprisingly good teen-spy flick in which Malcolm in the Middle is sent on a mission to get close to a girl whose scientist father has been employed by Al Swearengen and Imhotep to use ice-cubes to destroy America's missile defense system.
If I were taking it seriously, I would frown in disapproval at a film that reinforces the James Bond archetype of perfect masculinity, i.e. that what you really need to do to impress a girl is drive dangerously and beat people up. But taking it seriously would require brain-death, and it's amusing enough. You even get to see A.D.A. Abbie Carmichael running around in a silver jumpsuit torn from some 70's science-fiction epic. (And some Hilary Duff jailbait, if that's more your thing, you pervert. [Or, indeed, some half-naked Frankie Muniz fanservice in the opening sequence, and a locker-room bit later on. Slashers take note!])
