Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Bleak slice-of-life in a borstal -- a type of youth jail, named for the location of the first of its type in Britain. Carlin (Ray Winstone) carves out a place at the top of the boys' food chain, but the abuse by the governor and staff (past neglect and into active malice) means that not all of the inmates are so lucky.
The kind of grimly realistic take that isn't so much edifying as it is a statement in favour of youth justice reform.
