Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂

After defeating the pirates (see also: Project A ), Dragon is sent to clean up a district under the control of a corrupt policeman, which sets up the expected action: good guys, bad guys. Throw in a group of revolutionaries from the mainland, the squad of secret agents hunting them, the remaining pirates, plus a variety of independent agents, and things get just a little complicated.
More than any other Jackie Chan film I can remember, it's as much about farce as it is about kung fu -- case in point is one scene in which five separate groups are inside one apartment, all hiding from the rest. It's hilarious, though the martial arts sequences are not the most spectacular.
Also notable: the hatchet-throwing sequence which was later recycled with tomahawks for American audiences in Shanghai Noon.
