Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Classic Meg Ryan rom-com from the 90s golden age. Kate (Ryan) chases her ex Charlie (Timothy Hutton) to France, unknowingly helping petty crook Luc (Kevin Kline) to smuggle stolen goods across the border. Naturally, the two end up in a plot to reunite Kate and Charlie, with a romance blossoming amidst the comedy of errors.
The leads do have charming chemistry, but the biggest qualm is Luc's somewhat squicky turnabout from criminal/stalker/user to romantic partner: Kate's relationship with Charlie was hardly better, but it doesn't seem like a healthy rebound.
