Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂

Chevy Chase plays wisecracking investigative reporter Irwin "Fletch" Fletcher, whose usual information-gathering technique is putting on a disguise and committing minor fraud. There's a fairly convoluted plot, but it all works out in the end and there are plenty of bad jokes along the way.
It's not great, and so much of the humour derives from Fletch's attempts at fast-talking his way out of whatever situation he's stumbled into that it's often more embarrassing than actually funny. Also notable is the tragic synth-pop soundtrack, which has -- to put it politely -- "not aged well". Still, it's not particularly objectionable either. Rainy day material.
