The Saint of Our Money
My main motive for seeing this was that Graeme Garden mentions it constantly on "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue". It's not quite the worst possible reason for seeing a film -- a friend paid actual money to see "Honey" because it had Jessica Alba in it -- but it's close.
I was expecting more violence, honestly, because I'd heard words like "shocking" and "banned"; but I did grow up watching RoboCop's face-melting acid, Bloodsport's knee-snapping excitement and so forth.
It is violent, yes, and full of horrible people doing horrible things, but these things are never celebrated. Even when it seems to turn into a run-of-the-mill revenge flick, it stays its sombre and subtle course. Without exception, the characters are more interesting than they appear. For them it's worth seeing.
