Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Pretty good "underdog sporting team comes out on top" flick, based, as usual, on a true story. It's not a particularly interesting one -- the usual thing: coach-with-a-past (Gene Hackman) shakes the team up, initially with mixed results; has positive effects in the community, etc. -- but it's well done, and not as excessively sentimental as most entries in the genre. An added bonus is that it was created as a 50s nostalgia piece, so it hasn't aged anywhere near as poorly as most 80s teen movies.
