Uninspiring action-comedy following two greedy peasants as they unknowingly travel through enemy territory with a princess and her samurai general. Kurosawa's talent for shot composition is displayed to good effect, and there are several amazing battle sequences, but overall it's pretty insubstantial fare. More than good, but much less than great.
