Film Illiterate, wherein the proprietor records movies seen, and sporadic progress through assorted lists of the "best". Originally started after regretfully renting something forgettable for the third time. I've forgotten what, but never again! A tedious endeavour since 2005. Hello. 🙂
Gratuity
Entertaining parody of (or homage to) the hard-man action flick, characterized chiefly by gleefully ludicrous action and gleefully gratuitous nudity. Not only does the heroine get her kit off for a sex scene, it's literally combined with a gunfight: this is the stuff of fanboy dreams. Every third line is a quip and the actors -- notably Clive Owen as the carrot-eating hero Mr. Smith and Paul Giamatti as his trash-talking nemesis -- ham it up delightfully.
It's just a little too slow to work perfectly as mindless excitement, unfortunately, but still fun.
