The plot is an amusing spoof Rififi, but along the way it takes on whole swaths European cinema. There's the photographer whose wife is in prison, forced to sell his camera to feed his baby son -- a scene of neorealist woe interrupted when he drops the baby off at the jail so it won't get in the way while he's off burgling. It's amusing stuff, and exquisitely photographed; it looks at least as good as any of the movies it mocks. Worth a look.
