King Hu's masterpiece, a gorgeous, enthralling wuxia epic which rises above itself to express something spiritual -- a touch of zen. I'm an avowed fan already (Dragon Gate Inn etc.), but this one is something special, and a clear influence on the new wave of high-art wuxia, notably Crouching Tiger.
