Historically interesting as the first blaxploitation picture, there's otherwise little of interest in Sweet Sweetback's Bad Ass Song (extra letters omitted; just imagine the title draaawled). It has its moments, like Sweet's walk through the desert to the sound of a gospel choir's call-response chant, but it's basically just bad: semi-pornographic, exploitative, sensationalist rot.
